The Queen’s 90th Birthday Celebrations

posted Mar 11, 2016, 4:37 AM by Phil Greenhalgh

Various activities and events for Saturday June 11th are being suggested/organised for our village. For anyone interested in organising something at the Village Hall as part of the Queen’s Birthday celebrations, the Trustees would like to offer use of the hall free of charge for the day and evening. The Parish Council have kindly offered a substantial donation to fund a village event, so if anyone has any good ideas that they would like to organise (a children’s party? an adult party?) then please contact Anne on 481527 and we can get started putting your plan into operation!

Ridge Off Roader race

posted Feb 19, 2016, 7:48 AM by Phil Greenhalgh   [ updated Feb 19, 2016, 7:54 AM ]

This year is the 4th year of the Ridge Off Roader race, we are now racing across 10km, 5km 2km and 1km, ensuring the race caters for all ages and abilities. We can now announce a new 10km route! We listened to your feedback and have created an even better race. The new route has massively decreased single track stretches and even less road. Don't worry though, those hills are just as beautiful/challenging/majestic/hellish! We can also announce a brand new 5km route! With 10km and 5km off-road races in the Chiltern Hills, and 1km and 2km races for younger competitors, the Ridge Off Roader is an event for all the family

Just to remind residents that the Parish Council meeting with  Penelope Tollitt, Head of Planning at WDC in attendance will start at 7.30pm on Thursday at the Bledlow Ridge Village Hall.

We expect Ms Tollitt to talk to the Council about the proposed Area Action Plan covering Saunderton and hope that there will be an opportunity for the public to put questions to her. If you are attending, please ensure that you are at the Village Hall by 7.30pm because the evening's business will subsequently include the Annual Meeting as well as the monthly Council meeting.

Molins development

posted Mar 1, 2015, 1:35 PM by Phil Greenhalgh   [ updated Apr 14, 2015, 12:29 AM ]

Opinion is split but whatever your thoughts of the forthcoming Molins development, please take the time to look through this information to help guide your views.   If your time is short, please take note of the items in bold.
In addition to the application, there are two other documents worthy of inspection: WDC's New Local Plan presentation; their rationale for growing Saunderton (1000 houses?) and the application’s associated Environmental Report chapters 1 to 5.  The latter has many explanatory documents surrounding the proposal and will be of interest to some of you.
Both can be forwarded if requested from brvillagemolins@btinternet.com
Regards, Peter

1.  The Molins planning application will come before the Parish Council at its next meeting in Bledlow Village Hall starting at 7.30pm on Thursday, 5th March.
        Your attendance will be appreciated.

2. The current Molins development plan proposes 212 dwellings.  Comments to WDC Planning are to be lodged by 17th March The WDC Local Plan proposes more houses.
If there is interest, it is proposed to form a small coordinating group by early next week.
It will be important to hear and understand your opinions on this matter.
Please email this temporary clearing address  brvillagemolins@btinternet.com
The planning application can be viewed here:

If you wish to comment, you will need to register at this link before you can login to do so:

3. Wycombe District Council presented their "New Local Plan”, their strategy for future housing development in December at the Village Hall.  It includes a much enlarged Saunderton and envisions a dual-carriageway A4010.
The document makes important background reading to the current proposal.  It is worth reading if you want to know what is being considered in the longer term.
A file of the presentation can be requested from  brvillagemolins@btinternet.com.
